Spearfish Fire Department responds to Monday afternoon commercial fire
SPEARFISH, S.D. — The Spearfish Fire Department successfully doused a structure fire on Seaton Circle Monday afternoon.
Approximately 20 personnel between three engines and one ladder truck responded to the scene of a commercial structure fire at Air Systems Mechanical around 3:52 p.m. Rolling Bones Outdoors and Something Borrowed, LLC are also housed in the same suite.
The fire was knocked down quickly, with crews also opening sections of the wall and attic to cool hot spots. Fire Chief Ladson explained that firefighters ventilated the building to get the remaining smoke out. There was heavy smoke damage to the building, however, the fire was mainly contained to a work bench area within the suite.
“We are thankful to live in an area where neighbors watch out for each other,” Chief Ladson said.
No one was inside when the fire started; someone in an adjacent suite noticed the fire and called 911.
Damage estimates have not yet been completed.
