Youth and Family Services baking their annual Valentines Day cookies for their donors
RAPID CITY, S.D. — For 33 years now, Youth and Family Services has had an annual tradition of donating Valentines day cookies to it’s donors.
YFS is baking and frosting some 915 dozen cookies that they then box up and distribute to donors. Each year more donors means more cookies, plus they always bake extra in case some cookies break or any of the volunteers need a snack.
YFS chose Valentines Day as the time to show its appreciation to everyone who donates their time and or money to the cause.
Darcie Decker, nutrition services director for Youth and Family Services said “It’s a perfect time of year to say thanks to express our love and appreciation to omit those donors who are making it possible for us to serve children and families in our community.”
915 dozen cookies comes out to be a little shy of 11,000 cookies that will need to be distributed before Valentines Day.
